Looking Back, Moving Forward

As we close out 2024, it’s a time for both reflection and preparation. This year brought economic shifts, market fluctuations, and new opportunities for financial growth. It was also a year of lessons—some learned from challenges, others from moments of success.

A Season of Gratitude

As November comes to an end, we’re reminded of the importance of gratitude. This year, we've faced market fluctuations, changing economic policies, and shifting priorities in personal finance. Despite the challenges, there's much to be thankful for—whether it’s progress toward financial goals, newfound clarity in planning, or simply the lessons learned along the way.

Health Fuels Your Financial Future

Our health and financial well-being are connected. According to the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), an eye-opening 35% of early retirements are prompted by health conditions or disabilities. Graduation Is In The Air

This time of year is always inspiring.  Graduation marks the culmination of years of hard work and new beginnings.  Watching the graduates walk across is a great time to reflect on where we've been and plant our feet towards where we are going.  So far this year has shown a resilient market and we will continue to plan towards a brighter future.

Don't Look Up?

Wrapping up the first quarter, it's clear that stocks had an impressive run. The S&P 500 index benefited from a resilient U.S. economy, decreasing inflation, rising corporate profits, and the anticipation of potential rate cuts from the Federal Reserve (Fed). March marked the fifth consecutive winning month, resulting in the best first quarter performance since 2019.  Also, this month we were warned "Don't Look Up", during a great North American Eclipse.

Here’s to New Beginnings

Almost four years ago to the day, we reached the bottom of the COVID-fueled bear market. During the bear market, we witnessed the market drop by almost 34% over a month (2/20/2020 – 3/23/2020).  Over the last four years, we’ve been through a lot. Two bear markets (-33.79%, -24.49%), 122 new all-time highs, over 58% growth, and an average annual return of S&P500 of over 12% (well above the average).

Let The Good Times Roll…?

In January the S&P 500 rose by 3.8% to finish just under 5,000!  Don’t be fooled, this is only the first round.

Happy New Year!

I know, I know, we are all over the hoopla about the beginning of a New Year and ready to just get on with the year.  However, there is a cause for celebration after last year’s market was one for the record books.
